Driving through Elderslie today it suddenly occurred to me that a patch of vacant land used to be the Elderslie Toll Tram Depot.  Demolished in the 1960s the site has remained vacant ever since.

Elderslie Toll was the furtherest west the City of Glasgow tram  cars ran to by the 1950s although I believe they once ran to Kilbarchen.   I think I am right in thinking that the run from Elderslie went to Auchenshuggle ( whereever that was? ) and that it was the longest run on the sytem.

Can we identify the eastern end of the run.  There might be a page in this.

Auchenshugle is south of Tollcross at London Road in the eastern suburbs of Glasgow. [just beating Apollo to the answer]

Believe it or not, it still takes me by surprise to see Auchenshugle on the online maps.

I'm not a bus person, so don't look at the destination boards other than by chance, but I think the same still appears.
